Members also debated a 'motion to regret' electronic travel authorisation regulations. Put forward by Baroness Ritchie of Downpatrick, the motion regrets that the draft regulations will impose additional bureaucracy on visitors travelling from Ireland to Northern Ireland.

Motion to regret

Members debated a 'motion to regret' branded health service medicines regulations. Put forward by Lord Hunt of Kings Heath, the motion regrets that the draft regulations risk damaging future investment in the research and development of new drugs for the NHS due to the proposed 27.5% claw back rate.

In Grand Committee, members held four short debates on:

  • additional resources for HM Prison and Probation Service
  • protecting woodland cover and controlling grey squirrels
  • the relationship with the Overseas Territories
  • the use of assistive technology to support those with special educational needs.
