What's on in the Lords 16-19 October

Questions
This week members quiz the government on waiting times for paediatric care, oil and gas industry contracts, monitoring cyber attacks, the government's cultural education plan and the COP26 commitment to deliver $100 billion of climate financing.
Legislation
Members will consider Commons changes to the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill and complete final checks of the Non-Domestic Rating Bill.
Debates
Look out for debates on reports from the Industry and Regulators Committee, the Economic Affairs Committee and the Adult Social Care Committee.
Members will also debate the long-term strategic challenges posed by China.
Committees
The Science and Technology Committee continue looking at long-duration energy storage, the Communications and Digital Committee dive into large language models, the Environment and Climate Change Committee examine the electric vehicles market and the International Relations and Defence Committee consider the UK's evolving interests in the Arctic.

- Investing in energy: Economic Affairs Committee report
- Spotlight on adult social care: Adult Social Care Committee report
Tuesday

- COP26 commitment to climate financing
- removal of gender-specific language in the health sector
- cultural education plan
- fourth question to be determined
Regulations
The Lords will consider regulations on:
- town and country planning
- the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Act 2023
- companies: strategic and directors’ reports
Debates
Members will have two short debates on:
- the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe
- the challenges to the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Wednesday
From 3pm
Questions
Members press the government on:
- United Nations General Assembly
- Indexing of UK state pensions to inflation
- employment and support allowance
- fourth question to be determined
Regulations
Members will consider regulations on:
- mayoral and police and crime commissioner elections, recall petitions and referendums
- representation of the people
- the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020
Legislation
The House will consider Commons changes to the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill.
Debates
Members will have a short debate on inequalities in access to musical education in school.

Away from the main chamber, in Grand Committee, members will have a general debate on the Restoration and Renewal Annual Progress Report.
Thursday

Questions
Members question the government on:
- joint enterprise case law discrimination
- NHS waiting times
- respiratory syncytial virus immunisation programme
- fourth question to be determined
Legislation
Members will debate the key principles of the Royal Albert Hall Bill.
Debates
The House will debate the long-term strategic challenges posed by China.
