What's on in the Lords 18-21 September

Questions
This week members quiz the government on preventing the spread of infections on migrant barges, manufacturing of semiconductors in the UK, a reduction of applications to nursing courses in England, train station ticket office closures and net zero challenges for British farmers.
Legislation
Members will consider Commons changes to the Online Safety Bill and continue to examine the Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill and the Non-Domestic Rating Bill.
Debates
Look out for debates on the Justice and Home Affairs Committee report, 'All families matter', the European Affairs Committee report, 'The future UK-EU Relationship' and the Public Services Committee report, 'A response to the Children’s Social Care Implementation Strategy'. The House will also have a general debate on the situation in Ukraine.
Committees
The Communications and Digital Committee continues its inquiry into large language models plus the Environment and Climate Change Committee continues to investigate electric vehicles.

Thursday

Members will press the government on:
- local authorities' house building targets
- troop levels of the UK armed forces
- abandonment of mandatory food waste reporting
- fourth question to be determined.

Members will complete final checks of the Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill.
Debates
Members will debate the situation in Ukraine.

Tuesday

Members quizzed the government on:
- impact of inflation on local authorities’ budgets
- pay inequality experienced by minoritised women
- reduction in applications to nursing courses in England
- Gatwick Airport delays and cancellations.
Legislation
Members considered Commons changes to the Online Safety Bill and continued further scrutiny of the Non-Domestic Rating Bill.
Statement
Members also quizzed the government following statements on the floods in Libya, RAAC in schools, West Coast Main Line, HS2, Tata Steel, Post Office compensation and Afghan resettlement.
