This week members press the government on the number of homes fitted with solar panels, remediating flats with dangerous cladding, NHS dentistry, strengthening the position of Wales within the UK, drug-related deaths, and impartiality of the BBC.
Bills
The Lords debates the key principles of the Mental Health Bill, begins to check and change the Football Governance Bill, and 'tidies up' the Water (Special Measures) Bill.

Tuesday

Lords completed their examination of the Water (Special Measures) Bill.
From 3.45pm in Grand Committee, members continued to examine the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (Transfer of Functions etc) Bill.
Urgent questions
Members quizzed the government following urgent questions on arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court and Storm Bert.
Debate
The importance of the rule of law was on the agenda.
Wednesday

Lords questioned the government on:
- strengthening Northern Ireland’s position within the UK
- the Council of the Nations and Regions
- landlords and long-term rentals
- drones flying over RAF bases in East Anglia.
Statement
The House also quizzed the government following a statement on the 'Get Britain Working' White Paper.
Legislation
Members began to check and change the Football Governance Bill.
From 4.15pm in Grand Committee, members continued to examine the Product Regulation and Metrology Bill.
Orders and regulations
Members debated the Windsor Framework (Non-Commercial Movement of Pet Animals) Regulations and subsequent 'motion to regret', put forward by Baroness Hoey.
Thursday

The House of Lords presses the government on:
- impartiality of the BBC
- housing asylum seekers
- international banking system
- flood warnings and preparedness for Storm Bert.
Statements
Members also quizzed the government on COP 29 and Stellantis manufacturing sites.
Debates
The case against the politicisation of the civil service, and phone-free schools are both in the spotlight.
Orders and regulations
From 1pm in Grand Committee, members consider regulations on:
- Bail and Release from Custody (Scotland) Act 2023
- voter identification
- packaging waste
- human medicines
- medical devices.
