Guided tours of Speaker’s House return this Easter, giving you the rare opportunity to see inside this unique residence where the Speaker conducts his official business.

This tour allows you to find out more about how the role of the Speaker (which dates back to 1377) has changed throughout history and to hear stories of how the rooms of the State Apartments have hosted royalty and heads of state for over 160 years.

You will see magnificent spaces including:

  • the State Dining Room (pictured) which has played host to famous visitors and Royals
  • the Grand Staircase with its ornate decor
  • the Crimson Drawing Room which takes it takes its name from the magnificent silk wall hangings
  • the State Bedroom where the State Bed went missing – and was found - after the Second World War

Tickets for these popular tours are likely to sell out quickly, so booking as early as possible is advised. All proceeds go to the Speaker’s Art Fund Charity which supports arts and educational projects linked to democracy across the UK.
