The Health Committee takes evidence as part of its inquiry into the Public Expenditure Questionnaire (PEQ), from 10am. Among the witnesses appearing before the Committee are David Nicholson CBE, NHS Chief Executive, and Hugh Taylor CB, Permanent Secretary at the Department of Health.

The PEQ covers the Department’s response to questions submitted by the Committee on a wide range of areas under which the Department is responsible for spending public money. The session is expected to focus on the state of NHS finances, whether value for money is being achieved for the £96 billion budget for the NHS, and future expenditure commitments.
