Banking crisis inquiry continues

The Treasury Committee takes evidence on consumer issues for its inquiry into the banking crisis.
The Committee questions representatives from Which?, Citizens Advice and Federation of Small Businesses from 2.30pm. The Committee hears from Council of Mortgage Lenders, Finance and Leasing Association and British Bankers’ Association from 3.30pm.
The evidence session is expected to focus on:
- The product pricing of credit facilities, including mortgages, credit cards, store cards and small business loans.
- The role of banks in receipt of public investment in fulfilling the Government’s aspirations for assisting customers, and small businesses, in financial difficulty.
- The competition impact of further consolidation within the retail financial services sector.
