3 February 2009 (updated on 22 April 2010)
The House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee hears evidence on the state of the British economy from the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling MP, from 3.35pm.
The evidence session will cover a broad range of issues related to the British economy, these will include: how serious the current economic situation is and how far can it be blamed on domestic rather than international pressures, how the fall in the value of Sterling will affect the economy, what the final cost to the tax payer of the bank bailout is likely to be, whether the Treasury are considering pursuing a policy of quantitative easing and what impact this would have on the economy.
