House of Lords Bill

Members of the House of Lords discussed possible changes to the House of Lords Bill during committee stage on 19 March.
The Private Members' Bill includes provisions to change the way life Peers are appointed, the status of the remaining hereditary Peers and more.

The Bill will continue to be examined line by line in committee at a later date. Every suggested change in committee can be discussed and votes can happen. Any Member of the Lords can take part.
A date for the next committee stage is yet to be scheduled.
