Lords Committee hears from French Treasury

Jacques de Larosière, Chairman of the Strategic Committee of the French Treasury, advisor to BNP Paribas and author of 'The de Larosière Report' gives evidence to the House of Lords EU Committee as part of their inquiry into EU financial regulation. The evidence session starts at 10.50 am

Mr de Larosière, whose report calls for stronger European supervisors to settle disputes on the supervision of cross-border financial institutions, will be asked what steps the EU and others can take to better regulate financial services in the future, and what role the European Central Bank should play in future financial regulation.
Also giving evidence will be Eddy Wymeersch, Chairman, of the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR), and Carlo Comporti, Secretary-General of the CESR.
The evidence session starts at 10.50am in Committee Room 2A with Mr Wymeersch and Mr Comporti, followed Mr de Larosière at 11.30 am.
