Outreach launches ‘Parliament: it’s about you!’

The is pleased to announce a series of free talks for the public in libraries around Yorkshire and the Humber.

Parliament plays a big part in all our lives but many people are unaware of the work it carries out or the issues it influences. Some people think there is no way to get involved in the work of Parliament or don’t think that it is relevant to them.

Entitled 'Parliament: it’s about you!', these talks will address those doubts by looking at the overall work of Parliament, how it affects people’s daily lives, and the ways that you can get involved.

Talks will be held at the following venues:

  • 20 April 2009, 7 to 8.30pm - Todmorden Town Hall, Bridge Street, Todmorden
  • 21 April 2009, 7 to 8.30pm – Barnsley Central Library, Shambles Street, Barnsley
  • 27 April 2009, 7 to 8.30pm - Barton Adult Education Centre, Providence House, Barton Upon Humber
  • 28 April 2009, 7 to 8.30pm - Central Library, Northgate, Halifax
  • 29 April 2009, 6.30 to 8pm - Hull Central Library, Albion Street, Hull
  • 11 May 2009, 6.30 to 8pm - Bransholme Library, Goodhart Road, Bransholme
  • 12 May 2009, 2 to 3.30pm - Ossett Library, Station Road, Ossett
  • 19 May 2009, 7 to 8.30pm - Crowle Community Hub, Chancery Lance, Crowle
