Coca-Cola and British Retail Consortium give evidence

The House of Lords Science and Technology Committee hear from representatives of Coca-Cola, the British Retail Consortium and Microflex Technologies as part of their inquiry into Nanotechnologies and Food. The evidence session starts at 10.40am in Committee Room 4 of the House of Lords

The Committee is investigating the potential use of nanotechnologies in the food sector and will ask the witnesses for the views of their organisation and industry on the future of this developing technology. They will also ask what industry feels the Government should be doing to clarify its position on the health and safety risks of the use of nanotechnologies and nanomaterials in the food sector.

Giving evidence to the Committee will be:

  • Dr Michael Knowles, Vice President, Global Scientific and Regulatory Affairs for Coca-Cola
  • Andre Opie, Director of Food and Consumer Policy at the British Retail Consortium
  • Dr George Kellie, Chairman of Microflex Technologies Ltd, a leading UK marketing and technology company.
