The regulation, collection and retention of personal data was the subject of a discussion in the House of Lords on 2 April

The Earl of Northesk, a civil liberty campaigner, introduced the debate, with contributions from Members with expertise in national security, law and more.

In the House of Lords Members may table questions for debate, usually up to two hours and a half, on a specific issue or matter of concern. A minister responds on behalf of the Government.
