Speaker’s Conference looks at representation

The Speaker's Conference hears from senior figures from the three main political parties, from 10.15am, to discuss how best to improve the representation of women, black and ethnic minorities and the disabled in Parliament.

Giving evidence at 10.15am will be Janet Gaymer CBE QC, Commissioner for Public Appointment, followed at 10.35am by Peter Riddell and Dr Ruth Fox of the Hansard Society and Lewis Baston of the Electoral Reform Society.

Giving evidence at 11am will be Ray Collins, General Secretary of the Labour Party, Theresa May MP for the Conservatives, and Lord Rennard, the Chief Executive of the Liberal Democrats.
