Welfare Reform Bill: second reading

A Government Bill that aims to reform the welfare and benefit system was discussed in the Lords on 29 April.
Members of the Lords with broad experience of the benefits system, social and health care and more, contributed to a discussion on the general aims and principles of the Welfare Reform Bill.

The Bill proceeds to Grand Committee stage - line by line examination of the Bill outside the Lords Chamber - where every clause has to be agreed to and changes can be made.
