Lord Moynihan introduced a discussion about the effect of disease on the British bee population, in the House of Lords on 21 May.

Other aspects covered in the debate included the spread of the Varroa mite and the consequences of a declining bee population on the pollination of crops and fruit.

In the House of Lords Members may table questions for debate, usually up to two hours and a half, on a specific issue or matter of concern. A minister responds on behalf of the Government.
