Chairman of the International Development Committee, Malcolm Bruce MP, opened the Westminster Hall debate on the report by the Committee on the World Food Programme and global food security, and the Government's response.

Westminster Hall adjournment debates take place to allow MPs to debate issues of local or personal interest which rarely had time to be debated in the Main Chamber of the House of Commons. There are debates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The purpose of the debates is to allow MPs to discuss the issues and to receive a response by a government Minister.
