The Children, Schools and Families Committee questions ministers on National Curriculum testing from 9.30am and child health strategy from 10.30 am

In the first part of this evidence session, Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, Jim Knight, Minister for Schools and Learners and David Bell, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Children, Schools and Families, give evidence relating to the failure in delivery of the National Curriculum tests in 2008. The witnesses will also be addressing the evidence given by Dr Ken Boston to this Committee on 22 April 2009.

From 10.30am the Committee hears evidence from Ed Balls and Alan Johnson, Secretary of State for Health, about joint working between the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Department of Health on children's health, particularly the strategy Healthy Lives, Brighter Futures, published in February this year. The Committee previously took evidence on child health strategy on 18th March 2009.
