Parliamentary Outreach partners talk to People and Parliament inquiry

Partner organisations who have been working with have submitted evidence to the House of Lords Information Committee as part of the 'People and Parliament' inquiry.

The 'People and Parliament' inquiry is investigating how the House of Lords could improve public understanding of its work and role, and how people would like to interact with the Lords and Parliament.

Alison Williams and Trish McMeekin from Rethink, Lee Shelsher from Essex County Libraries and Chloe Stables from the National Council for Voluntary Organisations all gave evidence on 29 April 2009 about the programmes being delivered as part of Parliamentary Outreach.

  • Lee Shelsher talked about the role of libraries in Essex as promoting best practice in community engagement
  • Chloe Stables talked about the 'Get Involved' programme and the series of information sessions delivered by Parliamentary Outreach for the NCVO
