Political donations and party spending were the subjects of further discussion during the third day of committee stage on the Political Parties and Elections Bill in the House of Lords

Suggested changes made by Members of the Lords covered clauses 10-13 during the Grand Committee debate.

During Grand Committee (which takes place outside the Lords Chamber), line by line examination of the Bill takes place - as per the committee stage of a Bill in the Lords Chamber. Every amendment suggested is discussed but voting does not take place.

Grand Committee is expected to complete on 6 May.

The Bill makes some amendments to the regulation of party funding and election expenditure that is set out in the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000.
