Apprenticeships Bill: second reading

Thirty-five Members of the Lords - with experience and expertise in education, the welfare of children and more - took part in a discussion of the general aims and principles of a Government Bill on 2 June
The Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Bill, which would change the law on a range of issues - from apprenticeships to enhancing training opportunities - was discussed in the House of Lords during second reading.

The committee stage - line by line examination of the Bill - is scheduled for 16 June. Every suggested change (amendment) to the Bill can be discussed and every clause has to be agreed to.
During committee stage every Member can take part and votes can happen.
