Business Rate Supplements Bill: report stage

The first day of report stage of the Business Rate Supplements Bill took place in the House of Lords on 8 June.
Members of the Lords discussed possible changes to the Bill, which covered clauses 1-16.

Further line by line examination of the Bill takes place during report stage and allows Members to revisit issues discussed previously. All suggested changes to the Bill can be discussed and votes can take place.

The Business Rate Supplements Bill empowers certain local authorities in England and Wales to levy a local supplement on the business rate to invest in that area.
