The House of Lords Constitution Committee hears evidence at 11.00 am for its inquiry into the contemporary workings of the Cabinet Office and the centre of government

Giving evidence to the Committee at 11am will be Lord Burns, former Permanent Secretary, HM Treasury (1991-98); Sir Richard Mottram, former departmental Permanent Secretary and senior official at the Cabinet Office (1992-2007). Lord Lipsey, Lord McNally and Lord Donoughue also give evidence from 11.45am.

The Committee's inquiry seeks to investigate the role of the Cabinet Office in the light of the changing nature of British governance, often characterised by a more diverse, fragmented, complex, pluralistic and decentralised policy-making arena.
