Human Rights Committee looks at Equality Bill

The Joint Committee on Human Rights takes evidence from the Solicitor General at 3.00 pm as part of its consideration of the compatibility of the Equality Bill with the UK's human rights obligations

Giving evidence to the Committee will be Vera Baird QC MP, Solicitor General, and Maria Eagle MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Government Equalities Office.

The Committee is focusing on a number of matters in the Equality Bill which it considers are capable of raising significant human rights issues.
