Lord Renton of Mount Harry, chairman of the Lords Information Committee, introduced a short debate in the House of Lords on steps the Government is taking to increase the connection between Parliament and the public on 16 June.
The Information Committee is looking into how the House of Lords can improve public understanding of its work and role, and how people would like to interact with the House of Lords and Parliament.

In the Committee's latest YouTube video, Lord Renton invited views from the public to help inform the short debate. Views could be submitted as video responses to Lord Renton's video or as comments on Lord Renton's post on Lords of the Blog.
Questions for short debate - discussions usually lasting up to 90 minutes - can be tabled by any Member of the Lords to ask the Government a question on a topic of interest. A spokesperson replies to the question on behalf of the Government.
