Patient safety inquiry looks at lessons of Mid-Staffordshire

The Health Minister, Ben Bradshaw MP, is among the witnesses appearing before the House of Commons Health Committee as it extends its patient safety inquiry to look at the lessons learned from the failings in emergency care at Mid-Staffordshire Hospital. The Committee session begins at 9.30am.
Giving evidence to the Committee will be:
9.30am - Dr Peter Daggett, Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist, Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust, and Howard Catton, Head of Policy Development and Implementation, Royal College of Nursing.
10.30am - Ben Bradshaw MP, Minister of State for Health Services, Professor Sir Bruce Keogh, NHS Medical Director, and David Flory, Director General of NHS Finance, Performance and Operations, Department of Health.
11.30am - Eric Morton, Interim Chief Executive, Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust.
The 'Patient Safety' inquiry is looking at the risks to patient safety and to what extent they are avoidable, the current effectiveness of ensuring patient safety and what the NHS should do next regarding patient safety.
