The Culture, Media and Sport Committee and Parliamentary Outreach will hold a public meeting in York on Wednesday 1 July as part of the Committee's inquiry into the future for local and regional media

Yorkshire has a long tradition of quality regional programming and local news coverage. However, there is now serious concern as to whether local newspapers, television and radio can survive.

MPs from the Culture, Media and Sport Committee want to hear why local media is important to you.

The meeting will take place at the Park Inn Hotel, North Street, York, and will run from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm.

The meeting will be hosted by ITV Calendar presenter Christine Talbot. Attendance is free, and open to all. There is no need to book in advance.
