Training of social workers inquiry continues

The Children, Schools and Families Committee hold the third evidence session of their inquiry on the training of children and families social workers at 9.30 am

Giving evidence to the Committee at at 9.30am will be:

  • Liz Davies, London Metropolitan University
  • Dr Eileen Munro, London School of Economics
  • Professor Michael Preston-Shoot, University of Bedfordshire

Giving evidence at 10.30am will be:

  • Association of Directors of Children's Services
  • Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service (Cafcass), a non-departmental public body accountable to the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families
  • Local Government Association

The first part of the session will explore the content of social work degrees and their suitability as preparation for working with children. The Committee will then look at training from the perspective of statutory sector employers.
