Video game and effects companies give evidence to Committee

The House of Lords Communications Committee inquiry into UK originated content in film and television continues at 10.30am, when the Committee hears evidence from witnesses from the video games and special effects industries, including Eidos and TT Games.

Witnesses giving evidence at 10.30am will be:

  • Gaynor Davenport, Chief Executive of UK Screen Association, the trade association representing the UK's post production and special effects industries;
  • Alex Hope, Managing Director of visual effects company Double Negative;
  • Simon Kanjee, Managing Director of post-production company Evolutions; and
  • Saul Mahoney, Technical Director, Disney UK.

Giving evidence at 11.30am will be:

  • Simon Gardner, Head of Development, Climax Studios, Portsmouth;
  • Ian Livingstone, Creative Director, Eidos;
  • Michael Rawlinson, Director General, ELSPA;
  • Jonathan Smith, Head of Production, TT Games;and
  • Richard Wilson, Chief Executive, TIGA.

The Committee's inquiry examines the contribution of the UK film and television industries to the British economy and how this might be increased. It also looks at the cultural contribution of the industry and how current arrangements support UK investment and jobs.
