Apprenticeships Bill: committee stage

Members of the Lords continued the line by line examination of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Bill on 16 July
Clause (part) 47 of the Bill was discussed - covering the provision of education for persons subject to youth detention. Basic reading assessment for those persons (amendment 124B) - was voted on and agreed to.

During committee stage every suggested change to the Bill can be discussed and every clause has to be agreed to. Any Member can take part and votes can happen.
A sixth day of committee stage is scheduled for 12 October.
The Government Bill would change the law on a range of issues - from apprenticeships to enhancing training opportunities.
