Coroners and Justice Bill: committee stage

Members of the Lords, with wide-ranging expertise in the legal and medical fields, continued to examine the Government Bill which would change the law on a number of issues - from the use of juries in inquests to inciting hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation - on 30 June
Amendments (proposals for change) discussed included clauses (parts) 32-43 of the Coroners and Justice Bill which covered appeals to the chief coroner, reform of the law on murder and more.

During committee stage every suggested change to the Bill can be discussed and every clause of the Bill has to be agreed to. Any Member of the Lords can take part and votes can happen.
