Report stage and third reading of the Parliamentary Standards Bill took place on 20 July in the House of Lords
Amendments discussed covered clauses 2-13 of the Bill. The Bill was returned to the House of Commons for it to consider Lords amendments to the Bill.

Key proposals of the Bill include:
- establishing a body known as the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority and an officer known as the Commissioner for Parliamentary Investigations
- making provision relating to salaries and allowances for Members of the House of Commons and to their financial interests and conduct.
