Apprenticeships Bill: Lords committee stage

The House of Lords continued its line by line examination of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Bill on 12 October.
Amendments discussed covered clauses (parts) 48-61 of the Bill on issues including youth detention and the establishment of the Young People’s Learning Agency for England.

During committee stage every suggested change to the Bill can be discussed and every clause has to be agreed to. Any Member can take part and votes can happen.
A seventh day of committee stage is scheduled for 14 October.
The Government Bill would change the law on a range of issues - from apprenticeships to enhancing training opportunities.
