The House of Lords continued its line by line examination of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Bill on 15 October

Amendments (proposals for change) discussed covered clauses (parts) 88-126 of the Bill on subjects including encouraging post-19 education education and training, apprenticeship schemes, adult detention and the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation.

During committee stage every suggested change to the Bill can be discussed and every clause has to be agreed to. Any Member of the Lords can take part and votes can happen.

A ninth day of committee stage takes place on 19 October.

The Government Bill would change the law on a range of issues - from apprenticeships to enhancing training opportunities.
