Committee hears evidence for Private Finance Projects inquiry

The House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee inquiry into Private Finance arrangements and how they are used to fund public sector infrastructure projects continues at 3.35 pm

Appearing before the Committee will be:

  • Cllr Richard Kemp, Deputy Chair of the Local Government Association
  • Richard Buxton, interim chief executive of Local Partnerships
  • Jill Matheson, National Statistician, Office for National Statistics (ONS)
  • Joe Grice, Chief Economist and Director of Economic, Labour and Social Analysis, ONS
  • Professor Geoffrey Whittington, Cambridge

The inquiry will consider many aspects of the use of Private Finance arrangements including an assessment of the performance of PFI schemes and how future payments by the Government under PFI should be recorded in public sector accounts.
