The Health Bill, which aims to improve the quality of NHS care and services and to improve public health, completed its report and third reading stages in the Commons

The Bill also contains provisions to protect children and young people from smoking, particularly in the areas of advertising and sales from vending machines.

During the report stage MPs supported a backbench amendment to outlaw cigarette vending machines in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Bill now goes to the Lords for consideration of the latest amendments.
