Members of the Lords questioned the Government on stroke cases, disability benefit, the Gulf War 1990-91 and nerve agent pre-treatment tablets and Britain's energy supplies during Oral Questions on 13 October.
- Lords Hansard: Health: Stroke
- Lords Hansard: Disabled People: Benefits
- Lords Hansard: Gulf War 1990-91: Nerve Agent Pre-Treatment Tablets
- Lords Hansard: Energy: Sustainability
- Video & Audio: Oral Questions
Oral Questions take place at the start of business on Monday to Thursday and last for 30 minutes.
Questions are directed at the Government as a whole - not at specific government departments on set days (as in the Commons). They enable Members of the Lords to:
- check on government activities
- raise issues of concern about government policy, and
- seek information.
Questions are tabled in advance and printed on the Order Paper ( House of Lords Business).
