Minister to give evidence on EU and China

Chris Bryant MP, Minister for Europe, will give evidence at 10.35 am to the House of Lords EU Sub-Committee on Foreign Affairs as part of their inquiry into relations between the European Union and China

The Committee will question the Minister on the EU’s strategy for engagement with China and the Government’s assessment of China’s cooperation with the EU on international security issues such as Iran’s nuclear programme.

Chris Bryant will also be asked about the how the EU and China might work better to confront issues such as human rights and the potential for increasing transparency of agreements made with the governments of developing countries.
