Following a breach of perimeter security on Sunday afternoon, a protest by Greenpeace continues on the roof of Westminster Hall. The protest is peaceful and is contained within the Westminster Hall roof area. There has been no impact on any other part of the Parliamentary Estate or on any parliamentary business

Negotiations are taking place between the Greenpeace organisers and the Metropolitan Police. Twenty protesters have voluntarily stopped their action and have been taken to local police stations for further enquiries. The remaining group are likely to stay on the roof until after the Houses sit this afternoon.

An urgent review of perimeter security is being undertaken in consultation with the Metropolitan Police.
