The Treasury Committee continues taking evidence for its inquiry, Women in the City, at 9.45 am

Appearing before the Committee will be

  • 9.45 am: Trevor Phillips OBE, Chairman, Equality and Human Rights Commission
  • 10.30 am: Sarah McCarthy-Fry, Exchequer Secretary, HM Treasury
  • 11.15 am: Rt Hon Harriet Harman QC MP, Minister for Women and Equality

Topics expected to be covered include:

  • the proportion of women occupying senior positions in major financial institutions and the extent of glass ceilings to promotion;
  • pay inequalities;
  • the prevalence of flexible working practices;
  • the extent to which the culture of the City is sexist, and the prevalence of sexual harassment and exploitation.
