Welfare Reform Bill: Lords report stage

The first day of report stage on the Welfare Reform Bill took place in the House of Lords on 22 October.
Amendments (proposals for change) discussed included clauses (parts) 1-25 of the Bill on subjects covering "work for your benefit" schemes, entitlement to job seeker's allowance without seeking employment and the abolition of income support.

Further line by line examination of the Bill takes place during report stage and allows Members of the Lords to revisit issues discussed previously. All suggested changes to the Bill can be discussed and votes can take place.
A second day of report stage takes place on 27 October.
