The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee questions Environment Secretary, Hilary Benn and the Environment Agency, following the re-opening of its inquiry into the Waste Strategy for England 2007, which is examining the issue of illegal waste exports, following allegations of shipments to Brazil and other countries. Watch live from 3pm.

The witnesses are:

3pm - Environment Agency

4pm - The Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

The Committee will examine in particular whether the legal and regulatory controls on waste exports are adequately robust, whether sanctions and penalties for their infraction are sufficient and whether monitoring and enforcement activities are effectively resourced and managed.
