Equality and Human Rights evidence session

The Work and Pensions Committee holds a one-off evidence session with senior executives from the Equality and Human Rights Commission (ECHR) on its project 'Working Better: meeting the changing needs of families, workers and employers in the 21st Century'.
The witnesses are:
- Lady Prosser, Deputy Chair, ECHR
- Anne Madden, Head of Education, Skills and Employability Policy, ECHR
The session will look at the findings, conclusions and recommendations from the ECHR Working Better project which is examining the impact of public policy and workplace culture on working parents, carers, disabled workers and older workers.
This will include the impact of current maternity, paternity and parental leave and flexible working policy on parents, in particular low income and lone parents, and the barriers and constraints faced by older workers and disabled workers to better employment opportunities.
