New Bills introduced in the Lords

Four Government and 12 Private Members' Bills were introduced in the House of Lords on 19 November.
First reading of each Bill took place - a formality which signals the start of the Bill's journey through the House of Lords.

Private Members' Bills
- Building Regulations (Amendment) Bill
- Children’s Rights Bill
- Constitutional Reform Bill
- Consumer Emissions (Climate Change) Bill
- Contaminated Blood (Support for Infected and Bereaved Persons) Bill
- Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies and Credit Unions Bill
- Damages (Asbestos-related Conditions) Bill
- Live Music Bill
- Marine Navigation Aids Bill
- Marriage (Wales) Bill
- Powers of Entry etc. Bill
- Rehabilitation of Offenders (Amendment) Bill
Government Bills and Private Members' Bills are known as Public Bills - they change the law as it applies to the general population and are the most common type of Bill introduced in Parliament.
Government ministers propose the majority of Public Bills - those put forward by other Lords are known as Private Members' Bills.
