Officials give evidence to Lords inquiry into the Cabinet Office

Sir Gus O’Donnell, Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service and Jeremy Heywood, Permanent Secretary at No.10 Downing Street give evidence to the House of Lords Constitution Committee at 11.00 am as part of their inquiry into the Cabinet Office and the Centre of Government

The officials will be asked about the changing role of the Cabinet Office within Government, how the style of leadership in Downing Street has changed since Gordon Brown succeeded Tony Blair as Prime Minister, how the role of the Cabinet Secretary has changed, and how the centre of Government interacts with other Whitehall departments.
