Transport Secretary, Lord Adonis, will answer topical questions put to him by the Commons Transport Committee in what both hope will become a regular occasion. His session will be preceded by an update on road casualty statistics from a senior member of he the UK Statistics Authority. Watch live from 2.45 pm

2.45 pm - Richard Aldritt, Head of Assessment and board member of the UK Statistics Authority

3.15 pm - Lord Adonis, Secretary of State for Transport

Lousie Ellman MP, Chairman of the Committee, said:

"When the Secretary of State sits in the House of Lords, we do not have the opportunity to question him in the House of Commons Chamber. It is important that MPs should have the opportunity to question the Secretary of State for a major spending Department such as Transport, and the Transport Committee has therefore decided to hold regular Transport Question sessions. Lord Adonis has been very supportive in facilitating this new model of select committee scrutiny, and we look forward to our Transport Questions sessions with him."
