Committee takes evidence on child maintenance and enforcement

The Commons Work and Pensions Committee is holding a one-off evidence session with senior executives at the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission. Watch live from 9.30 am

The witnesses are:

  • Janet Paraskeva, Chair, Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission
  • Stephen Geraghty, Child Maintenance Commissioner

The Commission - a public body set up in 2008 - has three core functions:

  • to promote the financial responsibility that parents have for their children
  • to provide information and support on the different child maintenance options available
  • to provide an efficient statutory maintenance service, with effective enforcement
