The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee publishes its report on its pre-appointment hearing held recently with the Government's preferrred candidate - Poul Christensen CBE - for the chairmanship of the Natural England organisation

The Committee found that on the basis of the evidence provided by Mr Christensen at his hearing, it concluded that he is a suitable person for the post.

Natural England is an independent public body whose purpose is to protect and improve England’s natural environment and encourage people to enjoy and get involved in their surroundings. It works with farmers, town and country planners, researchers and scientists, and the general public on a range of schemes and initiatives.
