Lords Committee to hear evidence on Private Finance Projects

The House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee will hear from Government Departments and Public Sector trade unions from 3.35 pm as part of its inquiry into Private Finance Projects and off-balance sheet debt

The two evidence sessions will focus on the pros and cons of PFI and its impact on departmental innovation.

In the first session, the Committee will receive evidence from:

  • Department for Children, Schools and Families - Peter Houten, Director for Schools
  • Department of Health – Peter Coates CBE, Director of Capital and Investments
  • Department for Transport – Kate Mingay, Corporate Finance Director
  • Ministry of Defence – Jon Thompson, Director General Finance

In the second session, the Committee will hear from:

  • Unison – Margie Jaffe, Policy Officer
  • British Medical Association – Mark Porter, Chair of Consultants Committee

The Committee will hear from the Departments at 3.35pm and from the Unions at 4.30pm.
