Bill to stop violent videos and DVDs being sold to children

Andrew Dismore, Labour MP for Hendon, moved a Ten Minute Rule Bill which would close a classification loophole in the existing law, and stop violent and disturbing DVDs and videos being freely available to children. The Bill passed its first reading and is down for its second reading on Friday 26 February.

Ten Minute Rule Bills are often a chance for MPs to voice an opinion on a subject, or aspect of an existing law. Members make speeches of no more than ten minutes outlining their position, which another MP may oppose in a similar short statement.
